Weekly Classical 51/09
December 13, 2009
Christmas is coming really fast and it shows in this week’s playlist. I also gathered next week’s list which is really interesting, but back to this week’s list. It starts with really beautiful medieval song: veni, veni Emmanuel, what I’ve sung in a mixed choir when I studied at Conservatory. And it continues with medieval theme Angelus ad viginem. Then comes the well famous Bach’s Jesu, joy of man’s desiring. Another famous song is Schubert’s Ave Maria. The list ends with Vivaldi’s Gloria, what is performed around the globe at Christmas time – to mention I’ve sung it twice with different choir and orchestra, but if you find it performed near you, I warmly encourage you to go and listen it live. Even the best recording with good loudspeakers can’t beat live performance when it comes to listening experience!
